New Rochelle Officials: Sex, Drugs and Lies

NEW ROCHELLE, NY (May 10, 2025) — Six months ago today, on December 10, 2024, the New Rochelle City Council acted on a recommendation from City Manager Wilfredo Melendez, based on a self-serving, illegal memo written by Corporation Counsel Dawn Warren, to approve an unlimited budget to investigate me and fund litigation against me.

The vote was 5 - 2 with Ramos, Osinloye, Peters, Kaye, and Lopez supporting Melendez and Warren with Tarantino and Stern opposed.

New York State Public Officers Law §74(3)(d) prohibits public officials from using their official position to secure unwarranted privileges or exemptions for themselves or others. Warren, as the city’s chief lawyer, recommended the city provide her free outside legal services for a private defamation lawsuit, positioning herself to directly benefit.

I sent an email earlier this week to City Manager Melendez detailing this, demanding he apologize and withdraw his threat. I gave him until the end of the week to meet my demands. He did not respond. Here is that email:
