ESPN College GameDay was in Dublin for the start of the 2024 College Football season so I stopped by in my ND gear.

DUBLIN, IRELAND (August 25, 2024) — Many readers asked me earlier this year about rumors that a plan was in the works for New York State to put immigrants into housing on the old College of New Rochelle campus. Every official I contacted denied these rumors.

This week I confirmed these rumors were true and many officials lied. New York State officials were actually on the campus to evaluate the living spaces and intended to drop 550 men, women, and children into Residence Park. This would have completely altered that neighborhood and flooded the public schools with new students. Premium subscribers can read all about it here.

The other part of that story is the City of New Rochelle confirmed receiving notice of a complaint to the U.S. Department of Justice alleging that Developer Commissioner Adam Salgado threatened to withhold approval of zoning changes at CNR if the owners, the Masons, did not spend $3.5 mm to buy and rehab the only Carnegie Library at Main and Pintard. The Masons called it extortion.

Readers can choose which is the bigger story — the $3.5 extortion claim or the 550 immigrants plan.

I am delighted to hear that readers are planning on attending the Sustainable Westchester Q&A at New Rochelle Public Library Tuesday, August 27. Readers are better informed than ever on this green scam. If elected officials will not ask the tough questions, the public will have to do their job. I can only wonder if Noam Bramson plans to be there. My guess is: He is too afraid to show his face.

Premium subscribers also get the inside scoop on the unusual press release the DA put out about Noam Bramson — here.

One great story I came across while reporting on how Noam got hired by Sustainable Westchester I set aside for later. This story shows both what a bunch of phonies are running Sustainable Westchester and what a bunch of hacks are running LoHud.

Dublin was filled all weekend with #10 Florida State and unranked Georgia Tech fans in town for the Aer Lingus Classic at Aviva Stadium which is a 5 minute walk from my house. Our neighborhood was flooded with Seminoles and Yellowjackets. We hosted two Georgia Tech alumnae. I am not sure even they were expecting what was a massive upset on a game-winning field goal as the clock expired.

This was the actual start of the college football season and for the first time, ESPN GameDay broadcast from a campus (Trinity College) outside the U.S.A. I went to check it. I was delayed for quite a while because the road to the city center was at a standstill thanks to the FSU Marching Band.
