THE CLOCK IS TICKING: Free Accounts End 12/31/2024 so only FOUR more newsletters to go if you do not upgrade to a paid account. ACT NOW (SEE BELOW).
For those remaining with Free accounts on Ghost, now is the time to choose a paid account option. I would prefer you get a Premium subscription for $7/mo or $70/yr (a 17% saving if you choose the annual plan). I created the Basic subscription option at $5/yr so Free subscribers could pay a nominal fee to remain as a subscriber in the belief that if you are not willing to pay even $5 a year you are not all that interested in supporting my work. Both include a free month trial so really no excuse.
DUBLIN, IRELAND (December 1, 2024) — I hope my readers had a nice Thanksgiving, my favorite holiday. Ireland does not celebrate Thanksgiving so I could have put out a few more Thimblerig stories but figured everyone would be busy.
One story will include a motorcycle.
I had a good laugh at Vivian Spady complaining about the infamous Unity in the Community motorcycle going missing over the weekend. First, the infamous Unity in the Community car impounded. Now this.
As this was a light week, I will leave it here.

Our First Year in Ireland in Pictures
Cheers for now!
If you have not already upgraded to a paid subscription, you can do so here for as low as $5 for a year with a Basic subscription. All free accounts will be purged on December 13, 2024. What are you waiting for?

Why Upgrade?
Free Accounts are no longer available to new subscribers. Those grandfathered in today who do not upgrade to a paid account by December 31, 2024, will be removed on that day. In the remaining few months, free subscribers will be limited to a weekly email newsletter with links to recommended articles on Talk of the Sound (free), links to articles elsewhere on the web (mostly free but some paywalled content) and the headlines of my Paid and Premium content with a teaser but not the actual articles.
Basic Accounts are just $5 a year with the first month free and include the weekly email newsletter described above, full non-Premium articles, commenting, and access to the archive of non-Premium content.
Premium Accounts are $7 a month or two-months free, with an annual subscription costing $70 instead of $84 — either with the first month free. Premium includes everything and is the best value: all articles in full, the newsletter, commenting, archives, bonus content and more.
I would encourage all Free Account subscribers to upgrade immediately to at least a Basic Account and certainly consider a Premium account, which is the gold standard and helps support my journalism.
