A sign hung on a railing in front of a house reading “No signage on railings”.

DUBLIN, IRELAND (March 30, 2025) — I know readers have been wondering what I’ve been up to over the past two weeks, and I’m excited to finally share an update! As I mentioned in my last newsletter, I’ve been hard at work launching a brand-new site, DublinYanks. This project is a departure from my usual Talk of the Sound and Words in Edgewise content. DublinYanks is dedicated to “An American in Dublin decoding Ireland for fellow Yanks—serving up the craic from the Emerald Isle—with a wink and a pint.” It’s a fresh venture, and I’m thrilled to bring this new perspective to life.

Since I’m starting completely from scratch with DublinYanks, I decided to apply all the lessons I’ve learned over the past 18 years to ensure the site is set up correctly in every way—especially when it comes to search engine optimization (SEO). A few years ago, I promised myself I’d master SEO and apply it to Talk of the Sound, but the process felt so overwhelming that I eventually gave up. This time, with a new site, I was determined to bite the bullet and do it right. That meant installing Yoast SEO Premium, specialized software for SEO, and dedicating myself to numerous online classes to learn every aspect of using that software with my WordPress website. My goal? To create a site as optimized as possible for search engines. I wrapped up the courses over the weekend, and while I earned a diploma for my efforts, I also ended up with a massive headache—literally!

With that milestone behind me, I’m now turning my attention to a backlog of responses to my FOIL requests. As some of you may know, New Rochelle has been quite obstructive with these requests, which was starting to get irritating. So, I stepped back for a bit to focus on DublinYanks. Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been receiving emails with responses to my FOIL requests. I haven’t opened them yet, so I’m not sure what they contain, but I’m hopeful they’ll provide the information I need to move forward on the many stories of corruption and malfeasance I’ve been working on.

This week, I’ll start diving into that material and producing new stories for you here. I’m eager to get back to uncovering the truth and sharing the updates you’ve been waiting for. Stay tuned for more!
