DUBLIN, IRELAND (November 17, 2024) — After a week in Germany and Austria, I am back in Ireland. It can always change but as of now my next trip will be in April. I am considering Croatia which many people have recommended but nothing for sure at the time.
Speaking of time, I am about six weeks away for my terminating all Free accounts on Ghost so if you want to keep getting my reporting on Ghost you will need to upgrade to a paid account, Basic ($5 for one year) or Premium ($70 for one year). Skip below on how to upgrade.
There has been a ton of reaction and game playing within New Rochelle City Hall to my latest series. I am shifting my Thimblerig series just a bit to insert a Part VII that will be a collection of updates on different bits of news and information that came out of reporting and publishing the first six parts. Part VII will be a Premium article.
The New Rochelle Thimblerig — Part VI
I came across an absurd article from Pew Charitable Trust in which the stenographer (or so-called “reporter”) and Noam Bramson make it out the Noam was/is responsible for development in New Rochelle. He had no role whatsoever except taking credit for other people’s work. As a ceremonial Mayor he could have no role under the Charter, what the administration (Chuck, Kathleen) did was to keep Noam as far away from the work of staff as possible because Noam could only screw things up, and when he pressured Chuck Strome to appoint him Development Commissioner he ended up in a criminal investigation.
Here is my email to the idiot who wrote the fake news account of Noam supposedly presiding over development in New Rochelle:
My sense is that either you do not know the government of New Rochelle has a council-manager form of government (so Noam had no role whatsoever in the development you are interviewing him about as if he did) or you are a friend of Noam writing a puff piece as a personal favor (as has happened before).

Maybe you are unaware that in 2022 the New Rochelle Board of Ethics sustained charges against him for pressuring the City Manager to appoint him Development Commissioner, a position for which he was wholly unqualified to hold.
Ethics Board Delivers Final Report on New Rochelle Mayor Noam Bramson
He was investigated by the DA in 2022 but they decided to file charges. He had additional sustained ethics allegations in 2023. He is under investigation now by two agencies. Other than that I thought your article was an interesting attempt by Noam to rehabilitate his image.

Why Upgrade?
Free Accounts are no longer available to new subscribers. Those grandfathered in today who do not upgrade to a paid account by December 31, 2024, will be removed on that day. In the remaining few months, free subscribers will be limited to a weekly email newsletter with links to recommended articles on Talk of the Sound (free), links to articles elsewhere on the web (mostly free but some paywalled content) and the headlines of my Paid and Premium content with a teaser but not the actual articles.
Basic Accounts are just $5 a year with the first month free and include the weekly email newsletter described above, full non-Premium articles, commenting, and access to the archive of non-Premium content.
Premium Accounts are $7 a month or two-months free, with an annual subscription costing $70 instead of $84 — either with the first month free. Premium includes everything and is the best value: all articles in full, the newsletter, commenting, archives, bonus content and more.
I would encourage all Free Account subscribers to upgrade immediately to at least a Basic Account and certainly consider a Premium account, which is the gold standard and helps support my journalism.
