Tips can also go to Google Voicemail at (914) 500-8386 or Regular Mail to 10 LeCount Place, New Rochelle, NY 10801. For mail use my name not just “Talk of the Sound” as my building has hundreds of mailboxes.

I welcome tips from readers.

I get many tips, sometimes about genuinely new information (my favorite), or about information I already have (confirmation is useful) and sometimes about information I cannot independently verify (appreciated but problematic). I may or may not publish based on a tip or it may take a long while to get a story ready (often due to delays in FOIL requests). This can cause readers to wonder why a tip they submitted does not see the light of day immediately — or ever.

I am happy to explain my efforts to report out a reader tip but I often get anonymous emails or paper letters with no name or return address.

If you submit a news tip and want a reply you will need to either provide a way for me to reply to you or you will need to follow up directly with me using any of the contact information above.
